    • 2020.06
      Mr. Renrong Yu, a Ningbo-based entrepreneur, initiated and donated funds to establish the university
    • 2020.10
      The Yu Renrong Education Foundation was established as the university’s founding sponsor
    • 2021.03
      The Eastern Institute for Advanced Study (EIAS) was established as the main entity during the preparatory phase
    • 2023.04
      The public institution Eastern Institute of Technology, Ningbo (provisional name) was established as the main entity during the preparation stage
    • 2025.06
      The Eastern Institute of Technology, Ningbo (EIT) was approved by the Ministry of Education
    • 2025.08
      The first cohort of undergraduate students enrolled
