Chunmiao Zheng has been Chair Professor and Vice President of the Eastern Institute of Technology, Ningbo since 2022. Previously, he served as vice provost of global strategies at the Southern University of Science and Technology (SUSTech) and as founding dean of the School of Environmental Science and Engineering at SUSTech. Prior to joining SUSTech, he was chair professor and director of the Institute of Water Sciences at Peking University, and the George Lindahl III Endowed Professor at the University of Alabama. He was president of the International Commission on Groundwater of the International Association of Hydrological Sciences (IAHS) and associate editor for five leading journals in hydrology and water resources, including Water Resources Research. Currently, he is co-editor-in-chief of the international journal Sustainable Horizons and director of the State Environmental Protection Key Laboratory of Integrated Surface Water-Groundwater Pollution Control. He holds a Ph.D. degree in hydrogeology with a minor in environmental engineering from the University of Wisconsin-Madison.
