Chunmiao Zheng has been serving as Chair Professor and Vice President of the Eastern Institute of Technology, Ningbo, since 2022. Previously, he was the Vice Provost of Global Strategies and the Founding Dean of the School of Environmental Science and Engineering at the Southern University of Science and Technology (SUSTech) in Shenzhen. Prior to joining SUSTech, he held positions as Chair Professor and Director of the Institute of Water Sciences at Peking University, and as the George Lindahl III Endowed Professor at the University of Alabama. He served as President of the International Commission on Groundwater of the International Association of Hydrological Sciences (IAHS) and was an associate editor for five leading journals in hydrology and water resources, including Water Resources Research. Currently, he is the Founding Editor-in-Chief of the international journal Sustainable Horizons and Director of the State Environmental Protection Key Laboratory of Integrated Surface Water-Groundwater Pollution Control. He holds a Ph.D. degree in hydrogeology with a minor in environmental engineering from the University of Wisconsin-Madison.
