Jun Wu is an Associate Professor in the Faculty of Industrial Design Engineering at Delft University of Technology (TU Delft) in the Netherlands. Before joining TU Delft in 2016, he was a Marie Curie Postdoctoral Fellow in the Department of Mechanical Engineering at the Technical University of Denmark (DTU). He holds two PhD degrees: one in Computer Science from TU Munich (2015) and another in Mechanical Engineering from Beihang University (2012). He also serves on the editorial boards of Computer-Aided Design and Structural and Multidisciplinary Optimization.
His research focuses on computational design and digital fabrication, with a particular emphasis on topology optimization - also known as generative
摘要

Additive manufacturing enables the cost-effective production of highly complex geometries, expanding the design space beyond traditional limits. To navigate this expanded space, topology optimization has become a powerful and essential tool. In this talk, I will present recent advances in topology optimization for AM applications. I will begin with multiscale topology optimization - particularly de-homogenization techniques - which enable the efficient generation of lattice infill structures. The discussion will then shift to manufacturability, traditionally addressed through geometric design rules. I will highlight our recent work on space-time topology optimization, a novel approach that simultaneously optimizes both structural design and the fabrication sequence.
