
Professor Chuanwu Xi holds a Ph.D. in Applied Biological Sciences (Molecular Microbiology) from Katholieke Universiteit Leuven (University of Leuven), Belgium, and previously served as a tenured professor in Environmental Health Sciences and Global Public Health at the University of Michigan, USA. He is currently a Chair Professor at the Eastern Institute of Technology, Ningbo, where he also serves as Vice Provost for Global Engagement, and Dean of the School of the Environment and Sustainable Engineering. His research focuses on environmental microbiology, water quality and treatment, human health, and infectious diseases and infection control. His academic appointments include Associate Editor of mLife and Chair-elect of Public Health Council, NSF International. He has previously served as Chair of the Applied and Environmental Microbiology Unit of the American Society for Microbiology and as an FDA Liaison Scientist.
