Guided by its mission to advance global science and technology, serve national strategies, and support regional economic development, EIT strengthens basic research and emphasizes cutting-edge interdisciplinary fields and engineering technology. It has strategically prioritized key areas including artificial intelligence, integrated circuits, intelligent manufacturing, unmanned technology, new materials, and new energy.

EIT has achieved groundbreaking results in research projects, innovation platforms, and high-impact outputs. It has secured over 350 competitive research and talent projects with approximately RMB 2.3 billion in funding, established more than 10 provincial and municipal innovation platforms, and published a series of high-level papers, including Nature and Science.
