Eastern Institute of Technology, Ningbo, will host the 2025 Yongriver Forum from November 8 to 9. Yongriver Forum Disciplines
EIT is establishing four major disciplinary clusters: Science, Engineering, Information Technology, and Business Management. We have adopted the internationally recognized tenure-track system, recruiting assistant professors, associate professors, professors, and chair professors globally.
The forum will primarily focus on, but is not limited to, the following research areas:

Pure and Applied Mathematics, Statistics and Data science, Physics, Chemistry, Life Science.
Engineering:
Mechanical Engineering, Mechanics, Intelligent Manufacturing, Advanced Materials, Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering, Clean Energy, Biomedical Engineering, Environmental Science and Engineering, Environmental and Health, Sustainable Engineering, Ocean Engineering.
Information Science and Technology:
Electronics, Microelectronics, Integrated Circuits, Robotics, Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Software Engineering, Automation Control, Information and Communication Engineering.
Qualifications and Benefits
Applicants must hold a Ph.D. degree in a relevant field, have published high-quality papers in top-tier journals in their respective fields, possess strong communication skills in both Chinese and English, and be capable of teaching in English.

About EIT · Yongriver Forum
The Eastern Institute of Technology, Ningbo (EIT) is a newly established research university supported by both private and public funding. EIT places a strong emphasis on fundamental research, interdisciplinary exploration, and technological innovation. Its academic structure is built around core disciplines in science, engineering, information technology, and business, while remaining deeply committed to a broader mission of fostering humanistic understanding and social responsibility. The university aspires to nurture a new generation of innovators who are individuals with solid academic grounding, a global outlook, and a deep sense of civic purpose.
Since launched in 2020, the Yongriver Forum at EIT has been successfully held four times, leading to the recruitment of over 40 high-level talents from both China and abroad. Among them, many have been selected for prestigious national and regional talent programs. As a key initiative for EIT’s global talent recruitment, the Yongriver Forum has played a significant role in attracting top-tier scholars and strengthening the faculty team of EIT.
EIT has signed contracts with 100 academic and research leaders, including 16 academicians, 52 high-level national talents, and 23 fellows of international societies. Nearly 96% of its faculty members have more than two years of overseas experience. The university has published 524 papers in top-tier journals such as Science and Nature and has obtained over 2.37 billion RMB in competitive research funding. EIT has been approved as a host institution for the National Natural Science Foundation of China (NSFC) and has received 25 NSFC project grants in the past two years. It has established five provincial-level research platforms. It has made remarkable progress in developing research platforms, with five provincial-level platforms approved. EIT is rapidly building strong momentum to contribute to China's drive for high-level scientific and technological self-reliance and the development of Ningbo into a modern coastal metropolis.
EIT commence its first undergraduate admissions in 2025, offering four majors: Mathematical and Physical Sciences, Intelligent Manufacturing, Electronic Science and Technology, and Computer Science and Technology. Aligned with the needs of future development, the university is implementing an innovative talent cultivation model and committed to establishing a high-caliber undergraduate education system. In 2022, EIT launched a joint Ph.D. training program in partnership with leading institutions such as Shanghai Jiao Tong University, the University of Science and Technology of China, The Hong Kong Polytechnic University, and the University of Warwick. To date, 243 joint Ph.D. students have enrolled across three cohorts.
EIT embraces an open approach to education, forging strategic partnerships with significant results. The university has signed agreements with 12 top-notch international universities and 24 domestic institutions, focusing on resource sharing, complementary strengths, and mutual success in talent development and research collaboration.
Together with our pioneering undergraduates, let us launch a new journey and compose the new chapter of ElT. In 2025, ElT admitted its first cohort of 74 undergraduate students from Zhe-Jiang Province, with the highest score reaching691 (ranking 430th) and the lowest score at 656 (ranking 8,518th).
