The Eastern Institute of Technology, Ningbo, will host the 2026 Yongriver Forum from June 6 to 7 in the permanent campus. Yongriver Forum Disciplines
EIT is establishing four major disciplinary clusters:
Science, Engineering, Information Technology, and Business Management. We have adopted the internationally recognized tenure-track system, recruiting assistant professors, associate professors, professors, and chair professors globally.

Qualifications and Benefits
Applicants must hold a Ph.D. degree in a relevant field, have published high-quality papers in top-tier journals in their respective fields, possess strong communication skills in both Chinese and English, and be capable of teaching in English.

About EIT · Yongriver Forum
The Eastern Institute of Technology, Ningbo (EIT) is a newly established research university supported by both private and public funding. EIT places a strong emphasis on fundamental research, interdisciplinary exploration, and technological innovation. Its academic structure is built around core disciplines in science, engineering, information technology, and business, while remaining deeply committed to a broader mission of fostering humanistic understanding and social responsibility. The university aspires to nurture a new generation of innovators who are individuals with solid academic grounding, a global outlook, and a deep sense of civic purpose.
Since launched in 2020, the Yongriver Forum at EIT has been successfully held five times, leading to the recruitment of over 50 high-level talents from both China and abroad. Among them, many have been selected for prestigious national and regional talent programs. As a key initiative for the global talent recruitment, Yongriver Forum has played a significant role in attracting top-tier scholars and strengthening the faculty team of EIT.
EIT has signed contracts with 110 academic and research leaders, including 16 academicians, 67 high-level national talents, and 24 fellows of international societies. Nearly 94.5% of its faculty members have more than two years of overseas experience. The university has published more than 1800 papers in top-tier journals such as Science and Nature and has obtained over 3.45 billion RMB in competitive research funding. EIT has been approved as a host institution for the National Natural Science Foundation of China (NSFC) and has received 73 NSFC project grants in the past three years. It has made remarkable progress in developing research platforms, with six provincial-level platforms approved. EIT is rapidly building strong momentum to contribute to China's drive for high-level scientific and technological self-reliance and the development of Ningbo into a modern coastal metropolis.
EIT commence its first undergraduate admissions in 2025, offering four majors: Mathematical and Physical Sciences, Intelligent Manufacturing, Electronic Science and Technology, and Computer Science and Technology. Aligned with the needs of future development, the university is implementing an innovative talent cultivation model and committed to establishing a high-caliber undergraduate education system. In 2022, EIT launched joint Ph.D. training programmes in partnership with leading institutions such as Shanghai JiaoTong University, the University of Science and Technology of China, The Hong Kong Polytechnic University, and the University of Warwick. To date, 437 joint Ph.D. students have enrolled across four cohorts.
EIT embraces an open approach to education, forging strategic partnerships with significant results. EIT has signed agreements with 16 top-notch international universities and 28 domestic institutions, and hundreds high-tech companies, focusing on resource sharing, complementary strengths, and mutual success in talent development and research collaboration.
