
Shiyi Chen Meets with John Quelch and Qiu Wensheng
On March 11, a delegation led by Dr. John Quelch, Executive Vice Chancellor of Duke Kunshan University (DKU), and Mr. Wensheng Qiu, Chairman of Huaqin Technology Co., Ltd., visited the Eastern Institute of Technology, Ningbo (EIT). Professor Shiyi Chen, President of EIT and Member of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, welcomed the guests, with both sides engaging in in-depth discussions on future cooperation.

Professor Chunmiao Zheng, Vice President of EIT, provided a detailed overview of the institute's educational philosophy, academic discipline landscape, new campus construction, and internationalization strategy. He highlighted EIT's progress in developing key academic disciplines and attracting top-tier talent.

The two sides reached preliminary consensus to jointly develop talent cultivation and research collaboration, and to establish a mechanism for regular exchanges. The visit marks an important step in EIT's efforts to strengthen global ties and industry collaboration, raising its profile on the global stage.
The meeting and discussions were also attended by Professor Dongxiao Zhang, Executive Vice President and Provost of EIT and Member of the U.S. National Academy of Engineering; Professor Chuanwu Xi, Vice Provost for Global Engagement; and Professor Qinghuo Liu, Dean of the School of Electronic Science and Technology, College of Information Science and Technology.
